An East Indian, Hindu man wanted to build a temple. All of the land in this area was owned by the Sugar Company and they would not give him permission to build the temple. He carted out wheelbarrows of dirt and rubble and created his own island. This religious icon is visited by Trinidadians and Tourist, regardless of their religious affiliations.
